I know, Ash still needs to be whipped into shape now. Without Misty to fight with he is just sort of a cardbroad cutout :(

Not only that, he's gotten waaay too competent. I like my shonen heroes obnoxious and stupid, thank you very much. :p Why is he suddenly in a mentor position to Dawn? Grr, I must infiltrate the writing staff. I'd have an episode about a rude Chatot.

Well, to be a mentor you have to be a very good battler..Ash hasn't truly won anything in awhile and he only placed in the final contests...
It's been so long since he actually really caught a pokemon the old fashion way and had to work for it that it makes me cry :(.

If I were a writer, he'd get alot more... is he still trying to catch 'em all even? Or does he just want to place in tournaments?
